My teaching philosophy and methods:
Understand the personality characteristics of the students and their goals and difficulties in learning Mandarin, and cultivate them to better master the expression of Chinese language in a step-by-step manner, distinguish the similarities and differences between the expression of Chinese and Hong Kong vernacular, so as to generate greater interest in learning Mandarin, and use more relaxed and positive encouragement methods to promote their independent learning in extracurricular or after-work time.

- A student from Hongli School said that he hated Chinese when I first started tutoring him. After one year of teaching, when he was promoted to the first grade, he actually said, "I like Chinese recitation the most."
- I taught a primary school student who was shy and introverted to learn recitation skills. He was very stage-shy at first and didn’t dare to recite aloud. His mother was also overly nervous and put a lot of pressure on him, which was counter productive. After my constant encouragement, I helped him to relieve his emotions, taught him to use appropriate body language, and encouraged his mother to use more positive encouragement to give him confidence. He was originally afraid to speak loudly, but now he appeared confidently and won an award of excellence. His mother was deeply moved to see his child make such progress.
- Successfully improved students’ performance in one semester and helped students win the “Best Improvement Award”.
- A kindergarten student who does not speak Mandarin, I started by telling stories to help him get familiar with Mandarin, and he ranked among the top three in the primary school exams. Last year, he was admitted to St. Paul's Secondary School. I was very happy to help this child to learn Chinese. I always teach with full enthusiasm and patience, and communicate with parents frequently about your child's situation.
Thank you for considering my application.
